While Dewdocks® are essentially an “all-weather” product, a little extra care is necessary in harsh winter weather to maintain their integrity (and your warranty).
Three easy steps for leaving your dock in for the winter:
- Detach your anchors from the dock – this would be a good time to connect a marker to your anchor (rope or chain) so you can find it next spring
- Disconnect your ramp from the dock and from shore and store your ramp on top of the dock or on shore
- Tie a safety line from the dock to something stationary on shore
Failing to unhook your ramp in winter voids the warranty.
NOTE: If you have fast flowing ice issue during the spring thaw, you will have to take your dock to a sheltered bay or pull it up onto shore!
